We are now looking for a
TEST MANAGER (HW/MECHANICAL)
In this role You will lead Savox’s product development testing function and ensure that product quality, reliability, and safety are systematically secured early in the development lifecycle. You will define testing strategies, methods, and tools, and drive their successful implementation and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
Build Savox’s testing function by defining testing practices, processes, and ways of working, and ensuring their adoption across R&D teams.
Lead the planning and coordination of testing, define test strategies and requirement-based test cases, select appropriate methods. You also and participate in hands‑on testing when needed to secure smooth execution and high-quality outcomes.
Guide and oversee individuals involved in testing (including designers and external partners) ensuring progress, alignment, and efficient handling of findings.
Select and develop test environments, tools, and equipment, including environmental and mechanical testing, and coordinate areas such as EMC or audio testing when relevant.
Strengthen test visibility and reporting across product development, quality, and project management, ensuring thorough documentation and analysis of results.
Develop Savox’s internal testing capabilities long-term, with the opportunity to gradually recruit and build your own testing team.
Collaborate closely with R&D, project management, and compliance teams, acting as the primary subject‑matter expert for development-phase testing throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced and forward‑thinking hardware/mechanical testing professional who is ready to take a broader ownership role and help shape Savox’s testing function. You do not need to have worked as a Test Manager before, but strong expertise, structured thinking and the ability to develop testing practices are essential.
A suitable candidate has:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, electronics, or a related field.
Solid hands‑on experience in HW/mechanical product testing, with the ability to define tests based on requirements and relevant standards.
Familiarity with test standards, test methods, test laboratories, and environmental testing (e.g., vibration, temperature, humidity).
Experience with EMC, software testing, MIL standards, or audio testing is considered a strong plus.
Practical understanding of test management tools, test documentation, and structured testing processes.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines.
A proactive, improvement‑driven mindset and the confidence to propose and implement new testing approaches.
Excellent communication skills in English; Finnish is an advantage.
Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide others even in a non‑managerial setup.
Willingness to reside in Finland; ability to undergo a security clearance if required.
